Procurement Analyst

HAP Investments is an international, full-service real estate development company headquartered in New York City. HAP is currently looking for a Procurement Analyst to evaluate and analyzes the company’s procurement needs.

The Procurement Analyst:

  • Performs product research, interpreting, analyzing and translating spending and savings information in different formats to accommodate a variety of sourcing needs based on strategic procurement goals and requirements (including, but not limited to RFP analysis and cost savings models).
  • Serves as a liaison between suppliers and business partners on matters pertaining to procurement of goods and services.
  • Reviews bid proposals and secures contracts within budgetary scope for a variety of equipment, furniture, supplies, merchandise, services and construction.
  • Is responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance to established purchasing policies and procedures.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers information via proprietary supplier database and other sources, vetting candidates to make a final selection, negotiating and delivering bid award and tracking, as well as assessing performance throughout the contract term.
  • Evaluates vendors based on price, quality, availability, reliability and technical support.
  • Coordinates with other departments in determining the organization's needs by participating in the development of specifications.
  • Elicits information by meeting and interviewing suppliers, attending conferences and trade shows and researching trade journals, publications, catalogs or reviewing other sources.
  • Develops RFP’s for purchasing programs, evaluates vendor responses and makes selection recommendations to leadership.
  • Regularly contributes to development of new concepts, techniques and standards.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of technology-related products and services through continuing education, vendor seminars, industry conferences or other technical publications.
  • Is responsible for evaluating procurement processes and identifying how to eliminate wastefulness of resources, as well as assist with disposal of unneeded surplus inventory.
  • Is proficient in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional follow-through abilities.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the head of the department (essential duties as described here should not be construed as encompassing all duties and/or functions of this job).

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job-related experience in Real Estate Development/ Construction/ Engineering/ Architecture related roles. A basic understanding of the real estate and the construction process is required.
  • Superior evaluation, communication and decision-making skills for effective interaction with suppliers and sales representatives and negotiating purchases.
  • Ability to keep a steady work schedule with regular, predictable attendance to ensure steady work flow and minimal disruption to department schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to accept supervision, follow instructions and work in a harmonious manner with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programing (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Proven history of effective supply management.
  • Ability to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs.
